In some ways, Arthur was my favourite character in the Haven-based novels. I mean, there he was, existential despair and survivor’s guilt up the yin-yang, self-destructive urges so visible he might as well be wearing a sign…
… and he was still trying to find some purpose in life. Sure, it either went wrong (Hellfire Club) or he acknowledged he was unfit for it (warrior training), but he was still trying in his own way.
Finally, when he was face-to-face with the Freak, he didn’t blink and didn’t budge. He protected the woman he loved, and kept protecting her until he had to be beaten off with an iron poker.
And in the end, it was very strongly implied that he got to be with the woman he loved.
I personally like it when flawed characters manage to overcome in the end.
I don’t know much about the Haven series, but I looked up the characters online and Arthur stood out to me as having one of the more interesting story lines.
Could this have anything to do with the hack, the king or the sisters of miss rule. Two brothers look alike yet are different one a hero the other a drunken sod . The blue lady knows a good yarn and hot lesbian action.
They’re basically friends with benefits.
The Madam likes Sharona, but what she really likes is that Sharona brings in a lot of money when she comes to work at the brothel.
Bannyster had daughters ?
Jhon got a lot of women pregnant ?
I guess we’ll have to wait and see… 😉
Verrrry subtle GoT references 😉 love it!
Thank you!
Looks like Sharona gets a bedtime story with her playtime i like that.
When you increase the Madam’s profits by 300%, you get special treatment!
Aaaahahaha… That was my next guess as to the origin of the Daughters of Misrule. 😀
I suspected you might have had that one figured out. 🙂
Yeah, I figured we hadn’t seen the last of that brothel quite yet. 😉
Hmmm. Now I’m reminded of a character from the Hawk & Fisher-novels: Arthur Sinclair.
You can never have too many brothel scenes! 😀
Got the Arthur Sinclair reference too! 😉

Is that awesome or what? 😀
That’s very cool! 😀

Yep, the Madam certainly has skills!
Are Sharona and the Madam in a relationsship or are they just “friends with benefits”? I’m confused.

Oh, I’m enjoying this. 🙂
We aim to please! 😀
