That was a pretty decent thing Jhonny-boy did, making Marguerite his equal partner instead of just his consort.
Quick thinking, too, despite the shock of the moment. He truly acted in everyone’s best interests….
… but then, about nine months later, he got a few surprises, didn’t he?
It was probably one of the first selfless, responsible things Jhon ever did. The funny thing is, Jhon was actually as smart and capable as his brother, he just lacked the ambition.
As far as his other children go? Well, let’s just say that took a little quick thinking too(as we’ll see in a couple of pages)…
Ambition needs to be nurtured, like any trait.
Being told your whole life that you’re the spare and hearing your older sibling being praised is very likely to smother ambition…. or paint it black.
Jhon lucked out in that he found distractions.
Good point. Not being in line for anything probably made Jhon a lot less motivated to apply himself and in turn, his lack of ambition made others less likely to trust him with responsibility, so it became a sort of self-perpetuating cycle.
Although when all was said and done, Jhon lucked out in a lot of ways!
Man, I’m about to explode from the suspense. I think I got a good theory about what happens next. I gotta ask, would it be possible for the comic to update more often ?
I’m afraid updating more than once a week isn’t too possible right now, because I’m working on several other projects besides Sharona.
I have another unrelated comic project I’m in the early stages of(I’ll have more info on that once I get closer to completion) and I’m also working on some extra pages for the ebook release of Call of Cucucthu( I’m hoping to have that ready before too long!). Not to mention that I have some commissions I’m working on too, but you get the idea.
However, there are only three pages left to this story and I’m already working on Sharona’s next(rather bizarre) adventure! So I hope that helps. 😀
Well he was oversexed, hedonistic, cowardly, hypocritical boor but at least he wasn’t stupid and save thousands of lives from and ugly war. Marguerite is easy on the eyes Jhon better not spoil the marriage.
So Marguerite was into badboys, huh? Not an uncommon fascination at that age. And the fact that this particular badboy ended up coming with full financial and social security probably didn’t hurt. 😉
Did they grow to truly love each other over time?
Actually, Jhon and Marguerite fell in love pretty quickly, due in part to each being all the other one had.
Also the fact that Jhon didn’t have any other lovers during Marguerite’s lifetime and that he didn’t try to sire a male heir with another woman when Marguerite was unable to have any more children after Daemilia, suggests that they were in love and placed a premium on their marriage and family.

I have to admit, I’m rather enjoying this arch.
It’s a genuinely interesting story so far. 🙂
Thank you! I’m glad you like it.
To be honest, it’s the longest Sharona story I’ve done so far and I wasn’t sure if it would hold readers’ interest.
No worries. ^_^
Yeah, no worries.
We’re still holding on. 🙂
Comment section also seems to be more lively.
I’m certainly getting a lot more comments than I used to.
I’m not sure why, but I enjoy hearing from my readers, so I’m glad I am! 😀

I suspect Jhon and Marguerite’s marriage will turn out okay. I think it’s time for Jhon to settle down anyway.

That’s lovely. 🙂
